The Market- Eau Claire

We will be selling our furniture at a store!!! We are very excited to announce that we will be selling our furniture at The Market in Eau Claire. We are beyond excited, we can't believe this is happening, somebody pinch us!!! We will be also selling little decorative things besides our furniture. I will have to post some pictures when we have everything in. The Market has some awesome things, from unique lamp shades, unique furniture, to one of a kind throw pillows. They have everything to decorate your home to make it one of a kind. For those of you who are local, it is located in Banbury Place off of Galloway Street. They are open one Saturday a month and on special occasions like the Christmas season they are open more often.
You can check them out on Face Book,

We will have our furniture this Saturday so come check it out.

This is the latest piece we got done just in time for Saturday. This piece when I found it needed some TLC. My mom did a great job of making it beautiful again.

The crackle or chip look you see on the drawers is all natural. We painted it and it did that all on its own,
I think it is just beautiful!

White Distressed Table

We found this table on craigslist. Funny thing is that my mom and I emailed on this table and didn't tell each other, so they lady said to my mom when she called back, you are second in line, because a girl named Holly is interested, my mom realized it was me! Great minds think a like! We both love the detail on this table. We painted it white, for a classic look and distressed it to bring out all the details on it.

Chalkboard Desk

This is a desk that I found at a thrift sale. I thought it was so cool, I saw the potential right away! Of course I don't have a before picture, but it looked like your typical school desk. We sanded the whole desk including the top so the paint would stick better. We used chalkboard paint for the top and spray painted the rest of the desk and the stool with spray paint, I think the color was candy apple. I think the chalkboard top is cute and would be fun in a kids play room or a craft room.

First Furniture Redo

My friend Jenni wanted a table in her living room redone. She has a couch table and that is the first thing you see when you look in her living room. Her house is an open concept, so she wanted to tie her kitchen and living room together. To check out to see what her rooms look like you can visit her blog diydomesticdivaintraining
She just moved into her house about 6 months ago and she has before and after pictures of her house. She has a beautiful home and some really neat decorating ideas.

This is her living room and what the table looked like before.

And this is her kitchen, we used the color of her kitchen as the inspiration for her table. So it would tie in the kitchen and the living room.

We painted it a mustard yellow color and distressed it just a little bit. It's amazing how different the table looks to me just by painting it. I hope Jenni likes it.

Green Table

Here is a little table we redid. It was one I got at a thrift sale. We wanted to do some fun colors that were a little more loud, and this is what we came up with. I am totally in love with this green! I hope to find some more fun pieces to redo in this color. We left the drawer wood to give a little bit of a contrast and left the original draw pull.

Never be too afraid to go for it and paint something a color you normally wouldn't do. It will give your room a pop of color without over doing it. Plus if you really hate it, you can always repaint it, that is the joy of painting something!

We worked on a few pieces tonight in pink, can't wait to show all of you when they are done!

White Coffee and End Table

These tables were our first craigslist find. My mom and I drove about an hour to get these. It was the first snow fall of the year (and might be our last, the way this Wisconsin weather is going) and we found Christmas music on the radio, it was a perfect mini road trip! We also had my 13 month old daughter along, Bailey, that poor girl goes bumming with us all the time. She is always the one that gets stuck with the furniture in the back seat with her. I would love to know what she is thinking when she gets taken on these crazy car rides.

My mom saw these and knew right away she could make these look beautiful! She painted them white...I think my mom chose from about 10 different colors of white. To me white is white, but not my mom (the woman who owns about 30 different white T-shirts...lol) there are different kinds of white. Well she must have picked the perfect "white" because they look beautiful!
If I had room for these tables I would want to keep them!

It took us about an hour to figure out what knobs to get for these pieces, after long, long discussions these are the ones we decided on.

Shabby Chic

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the shabby chic look. I probably would decorate my whole house in it if I didn't like a billion other things. So we had to do a shabby chic piece! We painted it mint green and a soft pink. We also gave it that distressed look of course, that goes hand in hand with shabby chic.  I don't remember where we got the piece, we are getting so many it is getting hard to remember. It originally had a wooden knob for it so we changed that out to a cute flower knob, my mom wasn't sold on the knob, but I loved it and said it had to stay. I think it makes the night stand.

My best friend, Jenni bought this piece for her little girl's room, Ellie. It looks really cute in there with her floral quilt that my mom made for her.
Plus Jenni always does a great job decorating so it fit right in her decor she had for Ellie's room.

Yellow Flower Dresser

This is the dresser that I have mention, I have to say it is one of my top favorites that we have done so far. I got this dresser from a trade that I made with my sister-in-law. It was a cute dresser before, but we had something in mind for it when we saw it. We saw a super cute flower dresser on pinterest and we were inspired!  We wanted to make a flower dresser too and this is how it came out!

We stenciled the floral pattern on both sides of the dresser drawers. It makes it just a little cuter.

We have this dresser for sale on our Face Book page.

Face Book Page

I just want to let everyone know we are on Face Book
please check out our page

We are just starting out so we don't have a ton of pieces on their yet, but we are working on it. My mom and I are having SO much fun doing this. From going to our first flea market together to going on our first craigslist run. This is truly our passion inspired mostly from pinterest, other people awesome blogs, and our creative minds of course! We definitely don't claim to be experts, we are learning every day, but we love doing it. We get so excited when we finish a piece for ourselves or for someone else.
We love one of a kind unique things and
we want to share that with everyone else.

We hope you get inspired to do something creative!

We have a bunch of pieces done, I will be posting them in the next couple of days or you can check them out on our Face Book page. They are already posted on there!

Deer Hunter Widow Shopping

Here in Wisconsin we have deer hunter widow shopping weekend. Tonight my mom and I went around the local shops looking for goodies! We went to a place called Gypsy Maefly (for those of you who are local, it is in Banbury Place, you can check them out on Face Book.) They have different shops that are located all in one area. They are so neat they sell little bit of new, recycled, and vintage!
I got some really cool things that I had to share with you all.

I got what I guess you would call a microwave stand, I LOVE it and got it for a steal because it had a little scratch on the top. It fits in perfect with my current kitchen (but got it more for my future kitchen). Just something I could not pass up! (The little black thing in the corner is our dog Winston, he is in about 50% of my pictures...lol)

I am into the old Christmas decorations, not sure what era for sure, mostly 70's I think, the brighter color the better.
I got this cute little candle holder.
Someone put it down and my mom snatched it up for me.

Then I got these awesome Christmas ornaments, I have been wanting to start a vintage ornament collection and these were perfect! I have never seen ornaments like this before so I had to have them. They are in great condition and they were a great price!

Now I just have to figure out how I am going to display them!

If you look very closely on the box you can see that back in the day they were 59 cents! I thought that was kind of cool, plus old packaging is always neat, I think anyways!

Tomorrow we are going to find some cool knobs for all the new pieces of furniture we got done, so keep checking back for pictures!

Straight out of the 70's

This is our "70's piece" and it was a pain in the you know where!!! Once again I forgot to take before pictures, which I am really bummed about, because it looks totally different then when we found the piece. I am thinking it was an old radio because it had speakers in the sides of it. It took us two hours just to unscrew everything and take out the speakers. And this sucker is heavy!

We left the top wood and painted the whole thing plain old red, which I just love! We used a product from our local hardware store (I forgot what it is called) that looks like old tin. We painted it and antiqued it to make it look old. The antiquing really brought out the details. We were thinking this would be a great TV stand and with the storage underneath you could put a blue ray player or your cable box. There are already holes in the back so all the wires can go through.
Or this would also make a cute buffet in a dinning room, a huge statement with the red!

We are now working on an adorable dresser that would be perfect for a little girls room.
Can't wait to show you the pictures.

Goodwill find

This is one of our Goodwill finds, it was in good shape, but very ugly. It is really amazing what you will find at Goodwill or any of your local thrift stores. Sometimes you have to think outside the box when finding something, a little paint and creativity can go a long way. It's fun to find that one of a kind piece that no one else has.

We repainted pretty much the whole thing white and left the outer part wood. Now it's a lovely piece of furniture. This is one of our many pieces for sale.
It would be that perfect piece for the living room or use as a night stand.

White Dresser

This is one of five dressers my mom and I got from an awesome thrift sale we went to.
The thrift sale had a ton of great finds. It was a guy that had been going to auctions for years and his pole shed was full! Who knows how long those dressers where in there, we didn't even see all the dressers, he said he had five and my mom said "we will take them"...lol. So we saw all of them after my husband was kind enough to pick them up for us. We fell in love with them we are keeping most of them for ourselves.

My mom takes all the credit for this redo, she left the top (which you can't see) and the drawers wood and painted the dresser white and distressed it. I think it turned out beautiful, I love it! She is going to put new knobs on it we just haven't found the perfect ones yet, so when we do I will post pictures. (I have to work on remembering to take before pics).

My mom has had the same furniture in her living room for the past 15 or more years so it was time for a change, she put this in her living room and is using it for a TV Stand and put all her dvds in the drawers. Who said a dresser is just for the bedroom!?! Now we are on a mission to look for more new pieces for her living room!

Thanks for checking vintagejunkies out. Soon we will have more lovely furniture to show off!

UPDATE...

We my mom has decided to sell this piece and keep another one we redid for her tv stand.
So we put glass knobs on it...I think it looks beautiful (I wish I had a spot for it!)
