New Desk

My friend has been wanting to get a new desk for her daughter, Ellie, because her younger daughter, Hadley keeps playing with Ellie's computer when Ellie is trying to get her homework done and was getting very frustrated with her younger sister. So Jenni asked if I had any desks. Of course we had some on hand (just a garage full of furniture, that is all :)  ). I sent her some pictures and she liked this one. I got this desk from craigslist and it has been sitting in my garage for at least 3 months, my husband is glad I got out of the garage.

Jenni was putting the desk in their activity area, which is awesome, she painted the walls with chalkboard paint so the girls can draw on the walls. She has a table and chairs so the girls can do their crafts, the top of the table is chalkboard also. So when I was trying to think of ideas to match her space, so of course we used chalkboard paint, we painted the top and the front of the drawers chalkboard. We painted the rest of the desk green. We added a little flower on the top corner of the desk and put a flower on each side of the drawer so you see it when you pull the drawer out.

Green Dresser

This is another dresser from Dells. The dresser is almost as tall as I am (I am 5ft 3in) So for a dresser it is pretty tall. The dresser was white all over except for the back, it was painted green. At first my mom and I painted it red, but it just wasn't sitting right with us. We liked the color that was on the back of the dresser so much that we went and matched the  paint color up to that green as close as we could. (I really should take a picture of the back to show you, I will have to update later.) So this is how it turned out. My mom striped the top and we left it wood. We put new hardware on it because one of the wooden knobs that was on it was broken. We stenciled little flowers on the sides, to give it more a little more character.
