Mirror Makeover

We have another before and after!!! This was a mirror my mom and I found. I love anything floral so I said we had to get it. It is in good shape, had a few minor nicks on the wood. We painted it mint green, distressed it a little and made it look antique to show off the details.
I think this would look lovely in a shabby chic room.

This was the before....

Red and White Dresser

This is by far my favorite dresser that we have done so far. We had to do a little repair to the drawers, but it is really solid. It reminds me of a piece of furniture that would be in an old farm house. I think this would look so cute in a old vintage red kitchen. We distressed it and added new hardware, I love the floral red and white knobs. There was only one metal key whole plate left on the dresser, which is a total bummer, because I love those little details with old dressers. This is one of the dressers that we got down at
I hope someone enjoys and gives it a good home :)

Blue Dresser

This is a dresser we found my mom found at a local thrift store. There was a little work that needed to be done, but the top was gorgeous and the drawers are mint compared to other dressers we have worked with. We left the top wood, because it was way too nice to paint over. I personally LOVE the "legs" on this dresser.

My mom found some vintage paper that she put in the drawers, it matches perfectly I think!

I love the knobs!!!

Featured on Nicole Curtis Rehab Addict Season 3!

Our furniture has been featured on season 3 of

For those of you who are not familiar with Nicole Curtis,
she is a very talented lady that restores old houses that are in shambles and ready to be torn down.
She finds beauty in things that most people would just throw away.
(I, as many others, am a huge fan, she is so inspiring!!!)

How our furniture ended up getting featured...

I have watched this show on the DIY network called Rehab Addict and of course you can "like" just about everything on facebook, so of course I "liked" the show with a little help of a friend showing me the page. Nicole Curtis posted on facebook to send her anything creative, things like art, crafts, etc... so she can showcase the items in the latest house she restored. So I sent a few pictures of our furniture thinking never in a million years they will like our stuff, but I had to try right? Well no kidding I got an email back!!! So next thing I know, my mom, my husband, and I are driving about 2 hours in the first snow storm of the year to St. Paul to deliver this furniture. (We got around 14 inches of snow that snow storm.) Yes we are crazy, but I wasn't going to let anything come in my way of delivering that furniture. The pictures below are of the furniture showcased in the Case house from Nicole Curtis Rehab Addict Facebook page.

A little history on the furniture...

This a dresser I got at an auction, when my husband saw it he said "why did you buy that?" He said there was water damage on the bottom, that it was not salvageable and that it pretty much belonged in the trash. I kept asking him if we could fix that bottom at all, I was not going to throw it away, I loved it too much. So I showed it to my mom and she said we could totally fix it! So after all her hard work...this is what it looks like. I guess we told my husband, look where it is now :)!!!

The two side tables that are in the teal color are the ones we did. One of the tables I found on the side of the road when I was walking with my best friend. The other one I found on craigslist.

If you love the pictures, you have to check out
Nicole Curtis Rehab Addict on Facebook or twitter.
Remember to watch her show on
DIY Network or HGTV!!!

PLEASE NOTE: I have NOT taken any of these pictures and I am not employed with Nicole Curtis Rehab Addict. I am just sharing them to show you how she showcased the items in the Case house she restored. She did the design and I take NO credit for it.

Commode

This is a craigslist find. It was another one of our little adventures driving 45 min away because we couldn't believe someone posted this and didn't want it!!! I think these commodes are the cutest things ever.

The door always seem to missing on these, not sure why, but I have yet to find one with a door intact. It still looks cute with the door missing, it would be cute with a basket in it for storage.

We left the hardware orginal and added the top two pulls that we had from another piece because it didn't have hardware on the top drawer. I think it looks pretty good.

We stripped the top and the drawers and left it wood.

The paint is original just some distressing...love how it looks!

Pink handkerchief dresser

The handkerchief dresser is one of my all time favorite pieces of furniture. I love the two little drawers on top, it gives it so much character. My daughter has the same dresser in pink like the one below, I thought it was so cute, that we did the same thing to this one.
We got this find down at dells architectural.

Here are the before pictures...

After...

We painted it pink with a little distressing.

The dresser originally had wood knobs. We changed them out, I think knobs is what gives the dresser personality. On the top drawers we put glass knobs. On the bottom drawers we put porcelain knobs. (I think the pictures are kind of deceiving, in person it is a lot cuter.)
