Hayward Flea Market

So we thought we would try out the Hayward Flea Market! Hayward is a small town up north in Northern Wisconsin that is very touristy in the summertime. They have flea market every Monday in the summer. We thought we would pack up our truck and try it out. Hayward is about 2 hours away from Eau Claire, so that meant we had to get up at 3:30am! (We are not morning people, so that must mean we really like flea markets, lol). We got on the road around 4am and headed to Hayward. We got to watch the sun rise (I guess that is a perk when you get up at 3:30am, lol). We also saw a bear and deer. We got there about 6:15 and set up. Everyone was really nice to the "new girls on the block", lol. It was pretty hot that day, of course we didn't bring an umbrella or tent to block the sun out, but we had a very nice neighbor that came prepared and let us use an umbrella! So overall it was a great day!!!

It was bigger than we thought. There is about 80 venders total. There was a ton of people, we didn't know what to except, especially for a Monday.  We will definitely be back to sell and shop. There is a mix of antiques/vintage and new, crafty items. If you are looking for a day trip, I would recommend heading up to Hayward. It's a pretty drive and when you are done with the flea market, you can head into town and get some yummy fudge at the candy shop Hayward is known for!

Our sun rise!

Our Set up for the day!

Our next adventure is Oronoco, MN in August for Gold Rush Days!

Before and After of the Yellow Cabinet

Ahhhh it's been almost two years since I have done a blog post. I hope to more than one in the next two years :)

We have a few fun changes this year. We have a wonderful lady co-owning our space with us in Banbury, her business is called Vintage Sparrow (love that name!) This has allowed us to do some fun shows this summer and coming up this fall, remain staying open every Saturday (and hopefully more hours in the future) and have more fun stuff for you in the shop!

We decided to do a make over on this cabinet we have had in the shop for more than a year now, it needed a much needed make over and this is the first thing we have all collaborated on. It was cute, but needed a little tlc. The color was kind of dull and it has wall paper in the center of the doors. We painted it all white, put trim around the top and by the counter, and redid the counter tops.

New Space

We have been very busy the past month moving into a larger space!!! We are so excited to have the opportunity to be in a larger space. I think we could fill about a space about 10 times larger than this, but baby steps :) Here is what the new space looks like.

Ship Bed

This is a bed that I painted for customer. This is so far my favorite piece that I have done! How cool is a bed with a ship on it? I think every little boy should have a bed like this, think of all the cool pirate dreams!

Before...

After...I love the ends of the bed that look like rope, so cute!

1st room makeover!!!

I have had my daughters room done for awhile now, I just cleaned it for her birthday party coming up and thought I should take pictures. This room was pretty easy for the most part, it had a wallpaper boarder. It also had horrible curtains that matched the wallpaper and ugly carpet that I think was from the 60's. It had awesome hardwood floors underneath the carpet. They didn't have the carpet stapled down so we didn't have to do anything to the floors!

Here are the before pictures of the room... I didn't take very good before pictures oh well you get the picture...ugly...lol. I like floral, but this floral had to go...

Here is are the after photos. I still have a few things I want to do, paint all the trim white, door something fun with the closet doors and get a new light fixture, (not pictured, but it is an ugly ceiling fan). The lighting is horrible so the picture quality isn't that great, but you get the idea :)

I would have to say about 99% of all my ideas from this room came from pinterest or magazines. Not much of my own creativity. Ever since I saw the fabric hoops on pinterest, I had to do it! I love how easy it is and makes a big impact. The dresser I got Free on Craiglist (I know, I asked the lady several times if she wanted $ for it) Major score!  The rug is from Wal-mart for only $30!
This is her baptismal dress that her Great Grandma made her! I just bought a piece of molding at a Dell's for all of you that are local and put a knob on it! I found the cute rabbit hanger in Hitxon, WI at an antique shop.

I got her curtains at Target, and the only reason they are white and pink is because the pink were on clearance and I already had the white ones and not enough of one color, so this is what happens...lol. The night stand free with the dresser above. My mom my found the blue piece in the corner.

The two pictures above are my two favorite things in her room! I love floral and vintage :) Trash can got at an antique store and hamper got at an estate sale.

Wardrobe I splurged on, I got it off of Craigslist. The mirror I shopped at my own store, got the idea of the fabric that hangs from the mirror from Nicole Curtis in one of her pictures in a house she redid.

The bed is from Craigslist. The bedding is from Target, thrift sales, and my mom :) The rose picture I got from an antique shop, that was also a splurge.

Pink and White Custom Dresser

I have before and after dresser that I just did for a customer. She bought a bedroom set from us and found a dresser that she wanted painted to match the set.

Here is the bedroom set...

Here is the dresser before it is painted.
I love this dresser, I love the curves on it!!!

Here is the dresser after I painted it!
