Christmas Proud

If you have ever watched the Nate Berkus show you know that he does House Proud, well I am doing Christmas Proud. Christmas is my FAVORITE holiday, I love to decorate for Christmas. Over the years I have had pretty much hand me down decorations from my grandma and my mom. Now that  I am older I have found my own Christmas style. I have been collecting Christmas ornaments since pretty much after high school. Mostly the European ornaments. I have recently have really gotten into vintage Christmas decorations, like the 50-70s, the plastic Santa's and painted little nicknacks. Here is some of my decor...

This year with Miss Bailey around we have brand new shatter proof ones on our tree (see the picture on the right, with that little hand...). I am sad I am not putting up my ornaments that I have collected over the years, but I rather not have them broken...lol.
I tried to find the most "vintage" looking ornaments. I got them from one of my favorite stores Target!
The tree topper is from my great grandma Schroeder, my grandma had it and gave it to me. She gave it to me in the original box, I thought that was pretty cool!!!

We don't have a fireplace to put our stockings on, So I hang them from something to be honest I have no idea what it is, maybe an old lawnmower handle...no clue. I got it one year at cranberry fest.

I got this really cool vintage Santa. I am not sure how old it is, but I got it at the thrift sale that my mom and I found those 5 dressers. I was so excited to find a score like that, I only paid $1 for him!!!

There was one more thing that I wanted to put up with the display. I looked at it for about 20 min and it came to me, an old Christmas card and put it in a frame! I always keep my old Xmas cards. I rip off the front of the card if there is no writing on it and keep it for name tags. So I had a bunch to choose from. I like how this one looks old.

All the trees and the picture are hand me downs from my mom and grandma. The Santa is wrapped in tinfoil and painted, it was something I haven't seen before so I really liked it. My mom got it for me one year during the "deer hunter widow" shopping.

I have this display in my kitchen. I have a little bit of everything on here. I think I am more into Santa's then snowmen looking at my decorations...lol

My favorite two things in this display are in the bottom right hand corner. You can't see it very well, but it is a tin candle with Santa on it. It was a gift from my son, Korbin. They have a Christmas store every year at his school. Parents donate new or gently used items and the kids can bring two dollars and get presents for people (each item is a dollar).  I just LOVE it, it is so special to me! The other thing is a homemade decoration from Korbin, it is a present with his picture in it. He made it when he was in preschool. I LOVE, LOVE getting things like that from him. I have a bunch of Christmas stuff he has made over the years up around the house.

The matching snowmen are from my mom. Remember when there were ceramics and you painted them, yup those are it. I think they are so fun and they remind me of my childhood, I will always keep those! The little pink tree, I found at a thrift sale for 10 cents!!! Can't beat a deal like that!

I have always wanted a real Christmas wreath! When we got our tree tonight, I told my husband that I wanted a wreath. I said ask the guy if he will throw in a wreath with the tree. My husband is all about a deal so of course he asked and well we got the wreath!!! I just love it, when you open the door and walk in you can smell the fresh pine!!! I hope you enjoyed the Christmas decorations and got some fun ideas!

I hope you all have a Happy Holiday and God Bless!!!
