End Tables...

We have been doing quite a bit of small end tables lately. So I wanted to show some before and afters. I am not sure if you all like seeing the before and afters...but I will continue to share until someone says otherwise :)

This is a table that my mother-in-law found for us. Oh yes we have everyone looking for pieces. She did a great job finding this one.
I love the curves, the detail, and the hardware.

We left the hardware original as you can see.

We painted it white, distressed it and antiqued it.

Today it found a good home :)

These two end tables my husband found. It isn't very often that you find two alike tables in good condition. As you see they started out black...

We painted the tables a pale yellow, distressed them and added new hardware. I had them on craigslist to sell and today someone called on tables to pick them up and said hopefully this is what my daughter was looking for. I said "oh, was that the color she was looking for?" She said "no, she just wanted two alike tables with drawers, she will be painting them black, I hope you didn't just redo them." LOL! Ummm...yup I did. I didn't have the heart to say oh they were originally black. oh well what do you do, at least someone is going to enjoy them even if they repaint them...BLACK...LOL. I thought they were pretty while they lasted...

Below is the link for all the details!

Happy May Day!- Shabby Shed Boutique

Well it's finally May and here in WI we are getting a huge snow storm, up to 10+ inches of snow in some parts! UGGGHHH When will spring just stay?!? I know everyone is ready for it! Even though it doesn't look like spring outside, it definitely looks like spring at the Shabby Shed Boutique. I wanted to share some new photos of the store where we sell our items. We just brought more things up there and slashed a bunch of prices on our furniture. We have a garage full and wanting to make more room for some new pieces.
For hours and directions check out
Shabby Shed Boutique Face Book page!

We hope you enjoy!

White Side Table

This is another before and after we wanted to show you. This is a table that my mom found and had to get it, she found it at one of our local thrift stores. She was right on the money, the lines and curves on this table are beautiful. I would say this table had good "bones". I give her all the credit for this table, she did ALL of the work. I have to say I really like this one, once again I wish I had a place for it in my home. I love how by painting it and making it looked antiqued really brought out all the details.

Before...

After...

In the next couple of weeks, we hope to have sneak peak photos of some items that will be in our first flea market of the year...If you are local... May 18th from 10-5 in Rock Falls, WI (10 min south of Eau Claire)!

We also got 100 likes on our Face book page! Thank you so much to all of you! We really appreciate everyone taking the time to check Vintage Junkies out!!!

And I think Spring is finally here to stay :)

Some Peoples Junk...

This week was bulk week for garbage pick up in our city, so naturally that means drive around and see what you can find...lol. That is exactly what we did. This is the second year that we have done this.  I have to admit every time I have done this or have found something on the side of the road that I want, my heart starts racing not because I am excited (obviously I am, what is better than finding something cool and FREE!), but because I still get mortified picking someones garbage. So it was the first time I have picked this year because here in WI it is still winter and not much is out yet. So I went through the whole heart racing, risk someone looking out their window and hoping they don't know who you are...lol. But I quickly got over that when I found all my finds!!! So I wanted to share with you all what I have found.

A corner shelf. I can't wait to paint this! I love all the detail!

A little door of some sort, I am not sure what it is part of, I think some kind of cabinets. I love the hardware. I am not sure what we are going to do with it yet, I just thought it was cool.

This table is very heavy! I love the wooden legs.
Not sure what we are going to do with the top of it yet.

Another little table. So cute!
We have a few ideas for this one :)

That is it...due to the weather I don't think people are really up for spring cleaning yet. Just waiting for it to get nice out...just wondering if that will ever happen here in WI...lol

Leather Top Desk

I wanted to share another before and after (we are finally getting good at taking before pictures :) ) This is the desk we found this past weekend, we fell in love with it instantly. The desk has awesome curves and a beautiful leather top with a floral trim.
 Here are the before pictures...

Here are the after pictures. We left the top leather of course and wood on top. Then we painted the desk white and distressed it a little. The hardware is original. I love the hardware and the floral boarder on the leather top. I have seen tables like this before, but never a desk. Can't wait to see what else we find this summer if it ever gets here...

Spring is FINALLY HERE!!!

Today was one of the first city wide thrift sales in our area! So of course EVERYONE was out (I think everyone has cabin fever!!!). We did score a deal! We found an awesome desk with beautiful curves with a leather top! I am always saying how Miss Bailey is in the back piled with our finds, well today we had to take a picture in celebration of it being finally thrift sale season! She is such a trooper, hopefully as she gets older she learns to love picking :)

Can't wait to show you the desk when it is finished. Also stay tuned, it is getting nice out so we are going to get some new pieces finished. You can always check them out on our facebook page Vintage Junkies or Shabby Shed Boutique.
