This is a bed that I painted for customer. This is so far my favorite piece that I have done! How cool is a bed with a ship on it? I think every little boy should have a bed like this, think of all the cool pirate dreams!

1st room makeover!!!
I have had my daughters room done for awhile now, I just cleaned it for her birthday party coming up and thought I should take pictures. This room was pretty easy for the most part, it had a wallpaper boarder. It also had horrible curtains that matched the wallpaper and ugly carpet that I think was from the 60's. It had awesome hardwood floors underneath the carpet. They didn't have the carpet stapled down so we didn't have to do anything to the floors!
Here are the before pictures of the room... I didn't take very good before pictures oh well you get the picture...ugly...lol. I like floral, but this floral had to go...
Here is are the after photos. I still have a few things I want to do, paint all the trim white, door something fun with the closet doors and get a new light fixture, (not pictured, but it is an ugly ceiling fan). The lighting is horrible so the picture quality isn't that great, but you get the idea :)
I would have to say about 99% of all my ideas from this room came from pinterest or magazines. Not much of my own creativity. Ever since I saw the fabric hoops on pinterest, I had to do it! I love how easy it is and makes a big impact. The dresser I got Free on Craiglist (I know, I asked the lady several times if she wanted $ for it) Major score! The rug is from Wal-mart for only $30!
This is her baptismal dress that her Great Grandma made her! I just bought a piece of molding at a Dell's for all of you that are local and put a knob on it! I found the cute rabbit hanger in Hitxon, WI at an antique shop.
I got her curtains at Target, and the only reason they are white and pink is because the pink were on clearance and I already had the white ones and not enough of one color, so this is what happens...lol. The night stand free with the dresser above. My mom my found the blue piece in the corner.
The two pictures above are my two favorite things in her room! I love floral and vintage :) Trash can got at an antique store and hamper got at an estate sale.
Wardrobe I splurged on, I got it off of Craigslist. The mirror I shopped at my own store, got the idea of the fabric that hangs from the mirror from Nicole Curtis in one of her pictures in a house she redid.
The bed is from Craigslist. The bedding is from Target, thrift sales, and my mom :) The rose picture I got from an antique shop, that was also a splurge.

Chippewa Valley's Hidden Treasures Visitor's Guide
As many of you know we have had our shop for a year now. In that year we didn't do much advertising, none of which we did any paid ads, only things like Face Book, Craigslist, and of course our blog :) We had a great year, but I really wanted people to know we were in Eau Claire and in Banbury Place. I think Banbury has so much to offer and feel Eau Claire doesn't know it exists, yet. Sadly we have seen shops come and go and I didn't want to be one of those that had to go! So I was thinking of places to advertise (because when you are a small business you have a non existent budget for marketing). And one day one of the ladies at a new shop that opened up asked if I wanted to do an ad in Hidden Treasures. Of course I said yes right away, I knew what Hidden Treasures was all about. When I worked at Tep's Drive In, we put ads in there! (By the way if you are local, it's located in Augusta, WI. You have to go there! You must get their homemade root beer and the garlic fries that will make you drool!)
Anyways so I knew what Hidden Treasures was all about! It's a local visitors guide that gives information about Eau Claire and the surrounding areas. Including, Fall Creek, Mondovi, Altoona, Hixton, and so many more towns! Lori Schmit is the publisher for the magazine and does an amazing job! Not only does it highlight a calender of events that goes in each city, but she put articles together about the history of the cities or events that are going on and also fun articles about ice cream or picnics, and about local businesses. She does a great job featuring each city and showing all the events that the city has to offer. Hidden Treasures comes out four times a year, each season. So all year long you can find something to do. The best thing of all about Hidden Treasures is it is FREE to the public!!! So when you see one pick it up and save it, so when you have nothing to do, you can open it up and see what is going on!
We put our first ad ever in Hidden Treasures, the summer issue and not expecting it we got this wonderful write about Banbury Place!!! How cool is that, it was everything we wanted and more!
Below you can see the wonderful write up about Banbury Place!!! Or you can check out the entire Hidden Treasures issue at Chippewa Valley's Hidden Treasures Visitor's Guide!

Before and After announcement!!!
This before and after is very special to me! It all started when one of my very good childhood friends that I have been friends for over 15 years, (I would consider her and her sister more like sisters, than friends.) Any ways she asked if I would paint some furniture for her. She brought them over and I recognized them right away, they were mid century modern dressers from when she was little, her mom bought them for her and her sister. So I remember them in her and her sister's room. So I asked her how she wanted them painted and her and her husband picked out the colors, white and yellow.
Little did I know that when she picked up the furniture that it would be for her nursery!!!! She told me that she is expecting!!!! I was completely in shock and SOOO happy for her (I think I am more excited for her then I was when I found I was going to have a baby!) I can't wait for December to get here so I can hold that little baby!!!
She also asked me to do the announcement photos!!! Of course I was honored to do them!!! I will have to show you my favorite!!!
Here is the before...

Congrats Jessica and Sam!!! You are going to be great parents!!! Can't wait to meet the little peanut!
