Teal Dresser

This is a dresser that I have had for a long time actually. It was my mom's but when I had my son she gave it to me. I never thought anything about the dresser, just a handed down dresser. When my husband and I got into antiques and vintage items, I realized how cool the dresser was. I loved the legs on it and the wheels. My son had it in his room for 9 years. When we bought our house and it didn't fit in any of the bedrooms or any other rooms of the house because it was navy blue (not that I couldn't have painted it to match ;), but when you have had something for a long time and sometimes you just want something different. So with that being said. I was like what am I going to do with a navy blue dresser, I didn't want to strip it down to wood (too much work). I kept thinking what color would look good with navy...looking through the paint...I saw the paint that I painted my son's room (he picked out the color all by himself) I have to say I really like it. So I used it to paint the dresser and distress it to have the navy and wood show through. My mom likes to name the furniture we do, she gets a little attached to them (well a lot attached), so my name for this dresser is the Korbin dresser (my son's name) because it was his to begin with and it is the color of his room. Hopefully someone enjoys its new life and cherishes it the next 9 years (or more) like we did.

Here is a before photo, not a great one, but I did remember before finishing it...

Here is the after...

Vintage Junkies September 2013

I just want to say that we are truly blessed and want to thank everyone for your support. This is really a dream come true for my mom and I! We are loving this opportunity...we are just so blessed! We have been so busy this month I think we have rearranged at least 3 times from the last time we were open because we have been selling like crazy! We have lots of holes to fill so next month when we are open we will have lots of new furniture! This is what the shop looked like for September, hopefully I will get Octobers pictures up sooner than half way through the month. ;)
